It was a tragic scene in Dallas late Thursday night as a peaceful protest turned deadly for Dallas Police Officers.

Crowds had gathered to voice their anger, sadness, and disbelief over the recent police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

The protests were completely peaceful for most of the evening until rapid gunfire ripped through the air.  Initial reports were that at least three snipers were positioned around the area, and were targeting police officers.

One of the shooters was actually caught on live TV killing one of the officers.  The video is below, but I do warn that it contains disturbing images.

The mayor of Dallas has asked residents to avoid the downtown area on Friday as police continue their manhunt. With fears of further attacks, the Federal Aviation Administration has declared the area a no-fly zone.

The police did manage to corner, and kill one of the shooters.  They have at least 2 more men in custody as suspects.

Twitter user Thomas Paine was close enough to the action to see how intense and chaotic the scene really was.  He does use extreme language in the video so use caution.

It seems like parts of our country are ripping apart at the seams right now.  I want to write something profound and meaningful about what is going on lately, but I am struggling.

I am having a hard time even wrapping my own head around what's happening.  At this point all I can say is that I pray love wins out in the end.
