Rappers are known to portray a hardcore image at all times. However, in certain cases, when the cameras have been rolling and shooting the biggest hip-hop acts, a few well-known MCs have been caught shedding a tear or two in some emotional and heartfelt situations.

From Kanye West to Big Sean to Nicki Minaj, the list of rappers getting emotional is quite surprising. One of the most talked about scenarios in which a rapper was seen publicly crying in front of the cameras is Lil Mama's interview on The Breakfast Club with hosts DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God. In the 2014 interview, the "Lip Gloss" rapper broke down in tears after Charlamagne went in on her appearance and music.

Another hip-hop act whose gotten emotional in front of the cameras is Pharrell Williams. During a sit-down interview with Oprah, the "Happy" singer broke down in tears. He viewed a video featuring people from all over the world singing his hit record, which made the waterworks flow. The heartfelt interview ended up becoming one of the highlights of the Oprah show and helped introduce a lighter and more emotional side of Pharrell that was previously unseen.

The ongoing incidents of rappers getting emotional on camera may be on hold for now, but you never know when the next rapper might want to shed a tear for the cameras. Today, XXL looks back in time and highlights 13 rappers who have gotten emotional in the past.
