20 Rappers Give Their Predictions on Which Team Will Win the 2017 Super Bowl
All good things must come to an end, and this coming Sunday (Feb. 5) will mark the ending of the 2016-2017 NFL Season, which has been one of the more improbable and riveting years the league has seen in recent memory. Over the course of 16 weeks, the standings and momentum may have shifted continuously, and each week came with a new storyline that gave additional meaning to the games and kept football fans tuned in.
Names like Dallas Cowboys rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham were just a few of the players to dominate headlines, for better or worse, and help make the season entertaining.
The playoffs may have been a bit lackluster in comparison to the regular season due to early and swift blowouts, but managed to produce moments like the Dallas Cowboys' match-up against the Green Bay Packers, which will surely go down as one of the greatest divisional playoff games in NFL history. But with both conferences having determined a champion, it is now time for the biggest game of the season, as well as the biggest event in sports: the Super Bowl.
On one side you have the Atlanta Falcons, whose last Super Bowl appearance came in 1999, when they fell short to the Denver Broncos. Although equipped with an explosive offense and one of the best quarterback and wide receiver tandems in the game, were a sleeper team all season and throughout the playoffs, but have managed to get the public behind them, in part due to who they're facing up against, The New England Patriots. Perennial champions and the team everybody loves to hate, the Patriots, led by quarterback Tom Brady and general manager Bill Bellichek, are football's version of Darth Vader, Darth Sidious and the Galactic Empire.
In hip-hop, basketball may be king, but football is not far behind, and many of our favorite artists have been right there with the general public, celebrating every win and agonizing every defeat of our respective teams. However, regardless of a team's fate, making a prediction of who's going to win and tuning in to the big game is a must. Plus, catching that halftime performance is a must-see. While Lady Gaga is this year's halftime talent, Migos are ready to take her place if the opportunity arises. A petition calling for the rap trio to replace the singer as more than 61,000 signatures and counting.
XXL rounded up 16 rappers who give their analysis on who they feel will take home the Lombardi Trophy. The Game, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Yo Gotti and more share who they're rooting for to take home the title of 2017 Super Bowl champions in the gallery above.
