2 Chainz narrowly escaped a felony drug charge Monday (May 5), when he agreed to complete an 18-month drug program.

According to Page Six, if the 36-year-old rapper didn't agree to the drug diversion program, he would've had a serious felony to live with and he could've easily spent time in jail. As a result of accepting this deal, the felony drug possession charge was dropped.

If you remember, in June 2013, 2 Chainz was caught at LAX airport in Los Angeles with less than an ounce of marijuana and codeine, which of course is the main ingredient needed to make sizzurp.

Thankfully, for the Atlanta native, he was offered the opportunity to plead guilty to a misdemeanor if he attends this drug program. If completed successfully, the misdemeanor charge will also be cleared.

Things could have been much worse for 2 Chainz. Luckily, he has a good lawyer, which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone because the guy has got some dough to spend. Just listen to his new song 'Wuda Cuda Shuda,' and take note: “I count money in my spare time / Just paid a hundred dollars for a hairline."
