Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. asked a court to throw out over 3,000 warrants related to marijuana offenses. Finally a move in the right direction!

I salute district attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. for have the knowledge and foresight to see how silly and damaging misdemeanor and low-level possession of marijuana can be.

The mindset of society has obviously shifted and our views on marijuana has made a complete 180 in the last decade. What was once viewed as a low life drug is now a billion dollar business in some states. And with that old way of thinking came very damaging charges to harmless crimes.

Cannabis is here to stay, and it's only a matter of time before it becomes fully legal in the US. So let's start making the necessary changes so we are better prepared for the full transition.
