The release of Drake's new album, Scorpion, has predictably caused a big buzz in the hip-hop world. But interest in the boy has surpassed his new release, with 55 of his older songs going platinum on the day the new album came out, Friday (June 29).

According to the RIAA database, nearly every single Drizzy has put out saw a major jump in numbers, earning platinum certifications. In some cases, songs reached multi-platinum status. This wasn't just newer releases. "Find Your Love," which dropped in 2011, and reached platinum status that year, jumped up to three-times platinum in one day. 2010's "Miss Me" finally reached platinum status after being out for eight years.

I seems like it will only be a matter of time before more records off the new album are reaching the milestone. Drake's new 25-song offering features Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, Ty Dolla Sign and Static Major, and production from Boi-1da, DJ Premier, No I.D., !LLMIND, DJ Paul and more.

This looks to be his most personal project ever, with Drake opening up about being a dad, his relationship with Cash Money and more.
