Mt. Morris Township has declared that June 23rd will be known as 'Ceana Washington Day' to honor the courageous 9 year old girl that saved 12 families from a fire.

When a first started last month at Cranbrook Village, Ceana spotted the pending danger, and sprung into action.  The 9 year old girl ran from door to door to warn everyone that they were in the path of the fast moving flames.

Ceana told WJRT, ""I went to everybody door, knocking and knocking, and I got on my knees and I said bless these people, because this is going to be trouble and we need some help right now."

Most of the families lost everything, but thanks to Ceana, they all escaped unharmed.

We would like to salute Ceana for being a real life hero!
