Flint and Genesee County are offering up a wide variety of events to help everyone celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Here are a few of the events taking place, but if you would like to announce yours, please add it to the comments below.

FIA & Flint Public Library

From 1-3pm the Flint Public Library will host an arts and crafts event for families leading up to the 2pm celebration.  David McGhee will host the event with a keynote address from Tendaji Ganges, the executive director of University of Michigan-Flint's Office of Educational Opportunity Initiatives. Festivities continue afterward at the FIA until 6pm.

To honor Martin Luther King, Jr., admission to Sloan Museum will be FREE on January
21, 2013—Martin Luther King Day. Take this opportunity to learn about Dr. King’s historic
visit to Flint and discover information about other influential Civil Right leaders in our
community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters MLK Breakfast

Flint's Big Brothers Big Sisters 100 Men 100 Boys program will host the 7th Annual Mentoring Inspiration Breakfast at 9 a.m. at Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, 4100 S. Saginaw St., Flint. Admission is $15.
