A Helicopter Gets Creative While Rescuing Deer Trapped On Thin Ice [Video]

A Deer and her Fawn were trapped on thin ice covering a harbor in Canada, and the rescue effort looked grim until a helicopter pilot got creative.

The deer had fallen into the ice, and was exhausted from the effort to get back onto the surface.  When it came time to try and walk off the frozen water, neither mom or baby were able to move.

The rescue team couldn't go out on the ice, and lowering a harness wouldn't work because the struggling deer would have probably just broken through the ice again.

That's when creativity stepped in to save the day, and a skilled helicopter pilot helped both mom and baby to safety.
