Area Fire Departments Are Getting Money For New Equipment

Three area fire departments are getting some much needed grant money to upgrade their equipment.

Flushing, Saginaw, and Bay City will be the recipients of the grant money totaling almost $500,000.

The majority of the money will be headed north of Genesee County.to the departments in Bay City and Saginaw.

Bay City will be receiving nearly $380 thousand, Saginaw is getting $60 thousand, and Flushing is getting about $20 thousand.

The money is dedicated to buying new equipment, but no specifics have been given yet.
