A$AP Rocky likes to keep his fans on their toes. The Harlem, N.Y.-bred MC dropped his sophomore album, At. Long. Last. A$AP (A.L.L.A.), at midnight on May 26 instead of the proposed June 2 release date.

"OFFICIAL ALBUM RELASE IN STORES AND ONLINE @ MIDNIGHT TONIGHT , THANX FOR LISTENING , HOPE YALH ENJOYED . BLESS .... A$VP X LIFE X RIP YAMS," Rocky posted on Twitter last night (May 25).

According to Rocky, this LP showcases his point of view at this time in his life. A.L.L.A. includes songs like "Everyday," which he shared during his Red Bull Music Academy lecture in Harlem earlier this this month. The track brings some different elements outside of hip-hop with the inclusion of Miguel and Rod Stewart.

But this isn't the only interesting collaboration Rocky has on this record. Joe Fox, M.I.A., Mos Def, Juicy J, UGK, Schoolboy Q, Kanye West and the rapper's close friend A$AP Yams all contribute vocals to the project. If you're expecting songs similar to "F---in' Problems," there isn't a radio-ready record comparable but that doesn't mean the effort falls flat.

Before releasing the album, Rocky revealed the cover art for the follow-up to 2013's Long. Live. ASAP. On the album cover, the rapper pays homage to the late Yams by including the latter's famous birthmark and cross tattoo on his own face. To draw even more interest to the LP before it arrived, the A$AP Mob leader also released a trippy video for "L$D."

The 18-track album, executive produced by Danger Mouse, Juicy J and A$AP Yams, is available on iTunes, other online retailers and music stores now.

Rocky isn't the first rapper who pulled an early release. In March, Kendrick Lamar dropped his sophomore effort, To Pimp a Butterfly, a week before its intended schedule. Looks like these surprise album releases are the wave this year.
