Best Places For A Kid’s Birthday Party In Genesee County – Clay’s Top Five
Finding the best places to have a kid's birthday party in Genesee County can be a difficult task if you are not sure of exactly what you want in a party. With three kids between the ages of 12 and 2, I've had quite a bit of experience that might help you come to a decision. Here are my top five places to have your kid's birthday party in Flint and surrounding areas.
1. Flint Children's Museum
The Flint Children's Museum is a great place to take the kids anytime, so it only makes sense that they would love a birthday party there. Having just hosted my sons 4th birthday party there, I can say that he and his friends had a blast. With more than enough room for the kids to run, and tons of different activities there was never a boring moment.
The Flint Children's Museum starts at $50 for two hours, plus a $4 per child fee. While you will have a time limit on the private room, there is no time limit for museum access.
You can get more information or reserve your party here.
2. Chuck E. Cheese
Chuck E. Cheese has gotten a bad rap lately due to a few out of control parents. When it comes down to it, the rat knows how to throw a kids party! The food is good, every game is only 1 token and they have something for every age level. My only advice about Chuck E. Cheese is, if you are hoping to avoid a big crowd, book a morning party. All things considered, this may be the easiest kids party to throw.

3. Soccer Zone in Grand Blanc
Soccer Zone in Grand Blanc is a birthday location that I just found out about this year. I wasn't sure what to expect when we were invited to a birthday party there. I mean, what if your kid doesn't play soccer? I couldn't have been more impressed. They turned an entire corner into an area called KidZoodles. It was full of bounce houses for kids of all ages and sizes. Room can be an issue here if there are many parties going on, and this will be a bit more expensive than others. Check out all of SoccerZone's party packages here.
4. Galaxy Lanes
Who doesn't love a bowling party? Galaxy Lanes in Mundy Township does a great job of giving the complete experience. Knowing that most kids parties are in the day, they offer a second party time in the afternoon that features cosmic bowling. Prices are reasonable, and there is also a game room in case the kids get tired of bowling. The only real downside is finding an area to open presents, or have kids gather around for cake and ice cream.
Party reservations can be made for Galaxy here. If you live near the northern end of Genesee County, Bowl Flint has birthday parties at many other area alleys here.
5. Your Home *My Personal Favorite
I have always been a big believer that the best birthday parties are the ones you throw at your own home. You control the atmosphere, the food, the activities and the best part is that its free! A home birthday party is the only way that you don't have to follow any sort of guidelines.
You may worry about the kids being bored, but there are plenty of simple activities to plan that will hold their attention longer than any video game.
These pictures are from my daughters second birthday party. The kids had a great time making their own unique ballerina decoration. The best part is that they were able to take them home when they were done. If you would like some ideas or inspiration, check out this blog. It shows the end result of the party, and walks you through the steps that it took to get there.
These are a few of my own suggestions, but as long as you remember the party is supposed to be fun, any party will be a success. I'd like to list a couple of honorable mentions, since there are way more than 5 great party locations.
Honorable Mentions
- Rollerskating birthday parties are always a good time, and we have some great locations around us. Check out Rollhaven or Skateland if you would like a skate party.
- Iceland arena also offers skating parties, but these ones are on ice!
- Huckleberry Junction and Crossroads Village don't offer specific birthday party packages, but would be great places to take a group of kids.
- If you live in the Saginaw area, I highly recommend the Saginaw Children's Museum or the Saginaw Children's Zoo. Both are phenomenal places to visit, and offer great party packages.
