Big Boi is working hard to promote his next upcoming solo album called Boomiverse, and we're getting a real taste of what we can expect from the project. After releasing his new single "Mic Jack" last week, which features Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine, the Outkast member gave his first performance of the record.

The Atlanta veteran rapper was recruited by The Tonight Show to perform the new song, where he was backed by The Roots for the 1980s funk-infused track. While Levine was unable to make it for the uplifting performance, Big Boi was able to bring out veteran singer Sleepy Brown to help him for the hook. While spitting rhymes into a golden microphone, the MC was backed by the hip-hop band, with a trio of vocalists and Questlove giving his all on the drums.

Big Boi announced his upcoming album just last week, which follows in the footsteps of his 2012 solo release Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. He also dropped the new Adam Levine record, as well as "Kill Jill," which features both Killer Mike and Jeezy. The Outkast icon also took to social media to reveal that the project would feature Gucci Mane, CeeLo Green and unreleased verses from the late UGK rapper Pimp C. The album is going to be a completely star-studded affair, but we'll have to wait for the tracklist to see who has production credits.
