After previously teaming up with 21 Savage and Offset for the album Without Warning and Nav for the Perfect Timing mixtape, Metro Boomin is now linking up with Big Sean for a new project.

Announced on Friday (Dec. 1), the producer and rapper will team up to drop their next album, Double or Nothing. In an interview with Billboard, the duo revealed the project is still being mixed but the album will release soon.

Discussing their idea to collaborate on an entire project, Big Sean realizes two minds are better than one. "Sometimes ego gets you in trouble," he shared. "You've got to be aware enough to have your teammates around."

Metro also liked the idea of teaming up, comparing it to hip-hop albums from the 1990s. "I was born in ’93, and a lot of projects [from that era] had one producer, maybe two," he said. "They sounded more cohesive—better as a whole."

Sean also praised the producer's work ethic, saying they are both similar in that regard and chalking it up to their Midwest upbringings. "Maybe it has something to do with us being from the Midwest," the Detroit native stated. "We have that goal of wanting to succeed not just for ourselves, but for everybody who's listening."

Double or Nothing will not be Sean and Metro's first time collaborating. Earlier this year, the two linked up for Big Sean's "Bounce Back" from his 2017 , Decided. The rapper also previously teamed up with girlfriend Jhene Aiko in 2016, to drop their joint album, Twenty88.
