Bob Costas took a moment out of the halftime show during Sunday Night Football to talk gun control concerning the tragic murder/suicide committed by Chiefs player Jovan Belcher.  It has the gun advocate community in an uproar, and while I agree completely with Costas, I'm not sure halftime was the right time.

An article written by Jason Whitlock talked about the gun culture that we live in today, and how more domestic disputes are likely to end with this type of tragedy.

Let me be clear when I say that I could not agree more with this.  I just don't think that it should have been the focus of the halftime address.

When Belcher killed his girlfriend and himself, he ensured that his 3 month old child will grow up without a parent.  No matter what you blame that on, that fact should have been the focus of everyone involved in that game.

Idiots will always argue gun control with both sides making the most ignorant of claims to try and prove their point (see anyone saying that Jovan would have just stabbed his girlfriend if guns were banned.)  The real issue is that a 3 month old is now alone in the world.  If you're focus was on anything else then you should look in the mirror and ask if you are making the right arguments.
