The shooting deaths of police in Baton Rouge, La., has left America in a state of shock once again. Rapper Boosie Badazz, who has been an outspoken critic of Baton Rouge police, went on his Snapchat to address the tragic incident in his native hometown.

The “Wipe Me Down” rhymer told his followers that he wasn’t hopeful that gun violence will end anytime soon. Boosie believes the shooting was a response to the Alton Sterling killing by two white police officers. Sterling's funeral was held on Friday (July 15).

"I would say that the Alton Sterling incident played a big part [in the shooting]," he said. The funeral was just...the other day so a lot of people are in their feelings."

"Even the older generation, not just the younger generation, even the older generation are upset about it," he added. "There are angry... there's lot of people angry. Everybody that I've talked to are mad."

Boosie also believes that if the police officers don't get indicted for killing African-Americans, people will get even more upset.

"I don't think it's going to stop until they start convicting these [bad] officers of what they doing. It will just keep on escalating," he stated. "And if that guy don't get indicted [for killing Alton Sterling] and sent to prison for life, it's going to be another war, it's going to be another shooting and it's going to keep going on."

"If people feel they are not being protected by the police and the police are trying to kill them, he added, "it's going to get worser."

However, Boosie conceded that calmer heads must prevail in this situation and that violence is not the solution to the growing tensions between police and the black community.

"I just tell everybody to calm down and let's just try to find a better way," he said. "I don't know another way, but I just say calm down and find a better way."
