Rapper Boosie Badazz is on the mend after undergoing surgery for kidney cancer on Tuesday (Dec. 8).

As we previously reported, the Baton Rouge, La. native went on his Instagram page last month to inform fans of his cancer diagnosis. On Monday (Dec. 7), he told followers about his upcoming procedure. In the post, the "Letter 2 Pac" rapper thanked those who have shown support and shared an optimistic outlook.

"To all my family, fans n supporters I really appreciate the love n concern that's been giving to me since I was diagnosed with kidney cancer... I go n for surgery n I need prayers for a great surgery n rehabilitation," he wrote.

The surgery took place at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. And according to Boosie, the surgery was a complete success and he's cancer free for now.

"I want to thank each and everyone for all the support and love! Surgery went well..God is good! Next step recovery!" he announced on his Instagram account. "Cancer has been removed from Boosie kidney... Thanks to all Boosie family and friends and all my real Boosie fans for all the prayers from #badazzmusicsyndicate... I am a [cancer survivor]."

The cancer news comes after Boosie was released from Louisiana State Penitentiary in March 2014 after entering in 2009 with a whole slate of legal troubles. Since his release, Boosie has been staying busy with mixtapes and dropping his 2015 full-length album, Touchdown 2 Cause Hell.

We want to wish Boosie Badazz a speedy recovery out in Texas.
