During interviews, professional athletes are privy to give answers that are either mundane or borderline crazy. While commenting on the potential retirement of Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, his former teammate Nate Burleson chose the latter when he compared the the news to Tupac's death.

"Nothing's official," Burleson told the Detroit News"I'm waiting and maybe that's the fan in me. Maybe it's like being a fan of Tupac. I don't think he's dead yet. Until you can prove that to me, I still think he's living in Cuba."

Burleson joins Suge Knight, amongst others, in the Tupac truthers camp. In a May 2014 interview with TMZ, Knight claimed that the deceased Death Row artist is laying low on an island somewhere. "Tupac not dead," said Knight. "He somewhere on an island smoking a Cuban cigar."

At 30-years-old, Calvin Johnson may be retiring at the top of his game. Easily one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, Megatron has made the Pro Bowl five times and dominated the field during the 2015 NFL season as he amassed 88 catches, 1,214 yards and nine touchdowns. Former Lions great Barry Sanders ended his career in a similar fashion when he retired in 1998 at the age of 31.

"Like many players at this stage of their career, I am currently evaluating options for my future," Johnson said in a statement. "I would expect to have a decision regarding this matter in the not-too-distant future."
