The Flint Cultural Center has a great lineup of events for you to help celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr today.

With most kids having a day off of school today, this is a great opportunity to share the message that Dr. King spread with your entire family.

The Flint Cultural Center's free programs start at 2pm today and go until the evening.

The Flint Public Library is featuring speaker, David Tarver, along with live performances by The Boys & Girls Club of Flint Steel Drum Band,  the Gamma Delta Kudos and the Kappa Leadership League.  The program is scheduled to run from 2pm till about 4pm.

The Flint Institute of Arts starts a hands on exhibit, inspired by Dr. King at 4pm.  The FIA is also highlighting a performance by one of our favorite artists, Mama Sol and Tha N.U.T.S.  If you've never seen Mama Sol perform, this is something you should definitely plan on.  The art galleries will be open till 6pm to the public.

If you're looking for a chance to take action today, you could always join the MLK Day of Service, Shed Build Project.  This is a project put together by the Genesee County Habitat For Humanity.  Volunteers will be building sheds to be used at the homes that have already been built.  You can get more info about the Shed Building Project here.

If you have an event going on today, please let us know about it in the comments below.

Even if you can't make any of these events, please take a minute to talk to your kids about Dr. King, and the impact he has had on the lives we all live today.
