Chance The Rapper, Kendrick Lamar and Donald Glover have ensured hip-hop's representation at the 2017 NAACP Image Award. Chance and Kendrick each earned four nominations for the upcoming awards ceremony while Glover racked up five for his FX series Atlanta.

The critically acclaimed work on Chance's Coloring Book and Kendrick Lamar's untitled unmastered. led to both men getting nominated for Outstanding Male Artist and Outstanding Album. Chance rounded out his nominations with the awards for Outstanding New Artist and Entertainer of the Year. Kendrick got his final two nominations for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration and Outstanding Song - Contemporary.

The success of Donald Glover's Atlanta helped him score multiple nominations in the comedy categories. The rapper has a chance to win awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Oustanding Writing in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series.

Hip-hop has a heavy presences in Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration category as well. In addition to K. Dot's nomiantion, Alicia Keys' "Blended Family" featuring ASAP Rocky and Solange's "Mad" featuring Lil Wayne are also up for the award.

50 Cent's Starz series Power and FOX's hit show Empire earned nominations for Oustanding Drama Series. Rounding out things on the hip-hop front is Unsung's special on the Sugarhill Gang, which was nominated for Outstanding News/Information (Series or Special).
