It may not be Sunday, but Chance the Rapper had church at his headlining performance at the 2017 Governors Ball on Friday (June 2).

According to Billboard, the Chicago rhymer used the stage as his pulpit and delivered a powerful performance of upliftment and spirituality. Chano performed a selection of songs from his Surf compilation and his Grammy-winning mixtape, Coloring Book.

Backed by his live band the Social Experiment, Chance performed his beautiful song "Sunday Candy" and reworked the Kanye West's "Waves" and performed the spiritual "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" and "Ultralight Beam" from The Life of Pablo. Midway through the show, Chance had the crowd rocking to his one verse off DJ Khaled's star-studded, chart-topping hit, "I'm the One."

Chance closed out his show with a performance of "Blessings" with a harmonious riff-off with surprised guest Ty Dolla $ign. Before exiting the stage, Chance thanked his fans for their unwavering support. "Thank you for being there for me and I hope to be there for you too," he told the audience.

Prior to Chance's performance, his friend Kehlani also performed at the Governors Ball. The R&B singer performed selected tracks from Sweetsexysavage, including "CRZY," as well as old gems like "The Way." In addition, ScHoolboy Q also rocked the Governors Ball and allowed fans to mosh out while performing his hits including "Gangsta," "Hell of a Night" and "Studio."
