Chris Holmes decided to pursue his dream of running a bakery business, so he decided to quit his current job by baking them a cake resignation letter.

Holmes was nearing his 31st birthday when he made the decision that his border patrol job was not the way he wanted to spend his life.  He had always dreamed of becoming a baker, and wanted to spend more time with his family.

He decided that the best way to quit his job would be to show off what he wanted to spend his life doing, baking.  He baked a cake and wrote his resignation letter on it in icing, and presented it to his supervisors.  It read:

To The Management,

Border Force, Stansted:

Today is my 31st birthday, and having recently become a father I now realize have precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me, and other people, happy. For that reason I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years.I wish the organization and my colleagues the best for the future and I remind you that, if you enjoy this cake, you can order more at www.mrcake.co.uk

Sincerely,
Chris Holmes
(Mr Cake)

Well done Chris, and good luck.  Can you bake me a cake asking for a raise?
