The City Girls, a bubbling Miami rap duo, just suffered a major setback, as group member, JT, has turned herself in to complete a prison sentence.

JT, born Jatavia Johnson, has been out on bond, on reported fraud charges. On Saturday (June 30), she started her sentence, noting on her Instagram story, "Did more than I thought I could imagine in this short period of time out on bond. Now it's time for me to knock this down & come back strong forever. Hold my baby down y'all."

XXL has confirmed that JT is in the Federal Detention Center in Miami. Her given release date is March 21, 2020. Fellow Miami rapper, Trina, is already showing love and has been spotted rocking a "Free JT" shirt.

The incarceration comes with bad timing. The CGs, also made up of member, Yung Miami, released their debut mixtape, Period, in May, after appearing on the Quality Control compilation, Control the Streets Vol. 1. The group later signed with the Atlanta indie powerhouse and appeared in XXL's The Break section.

Despite JT's absence, the group will push on. On Friday (June 29), they released video for the single, "Sweet Tooth," from their debut offering. Directed by Gabriel Hart, the colorful visual finds the rappers dropping raunchy flows while being adored by half-naked men.

Check out JT explaining her current situation and the "Sweet Tooth" video below.
