Todd Richards led Clio to their first win in 37 games this season, but was let go by the school district this week.

The reason for Richards firing has not been made public yet, but it had better be a good one based on the reaction of the players and community.

Players turned in their jerseys on Monday as a sign of protest, and parents voiced their anger during a school board meeting this week.

Clio Schools Superintendent Fletcher Spears said the decision to get rid of Richards came after his evaluation. High school administrators who performed that evaluation claimed he wasn't up to par.

The outcry from players and parents will be reviewed, but as of now there are no plans to hire Richards back.

Do you think the school is obligated to provide the reason for firing the popular coach?
