A company called Dispense Labs unveiled the Autospense, an automated dispensary that looks just like a vending machine, but instead it sells medical marijuana. The company wants to make the drug as convenient and safe as possible.

The machine can be leased for $1,500 to $2,000 a month. So far, it's only at one store in Santa Ana, California.

The way it works:  Customers are given registration cards and unique PIN numbers, which lets them access the machines. During after hours, only registered patients can use the dispensary through fingerprint authentication. Closed-circuit cameras, sensors, locks, and "strict record keeping" give additional security.

Once the customer passes the security features, they're given a menu to choose the medicinal variety and quantity of weed they want. The customer can pay with cash, credit or debit card.
