Cupcakke Hospitalized After Sending Suicidal Tweet

On Monday night (Jan. 7), CupcakKe posted a suicidal tweet onto her timeline. Some time later, she was rushed to the hospital.

While details surrounding her the Chicago rapper's current status are scarce, The Chicago Police toldRadio 1 Newsbeat that CupcakKe was taken to the hospital for "mental evaluation" as opposed to physical injuries. Another person that offered some insight into CupcakKe's condition was her friend Elijah Daniel, a comedian who tweeted out some information about the situation.

"UPDATE: Chicago Police got to Elizabeth’s place and she has been taken to a hospital. I don’t have any further information beyond that, but will update when i do," he wrote in one tweet.

In another, Daniel let fans know that CupcakKe wasn't in life-threatening danger. "UPDATE: Police not able to give me anymore details other than Elizabeth is OKAY and at the hospital ," Daniel wrote in another update.

The CupcakKe tweet that alerted everyone came at 7:52 p.m. EST last night. "im about to commit suicide," CupcakKe wrote at the time. Within minutes, her fans began sending their best wishes.

"I don’t know you and I am not a Stan , but you have touched my heart with your freedom and body positivity," wrote one fan on Twitter. "I can’t handle another black beauty feeling the way you do . I can’t handle another gifted soul in the music industry to fall into darkness . You are loved by many."

Known for her eclectic musical sensibilities, openness and sense of humor, CupcakKe has been one of Chi-Town's most-talked about artists over the last couple of years. Her last two albums, 2018's Ephorize and Eden, were met with critical acclaim.
