The Detroit Lions have some big changes in store for 2017 including a new logo, uniform combinations, and a major upgrade to Ford Field.

The Lions already unveiled their new logo on Twitter earlier this week.

Sure, it's subtle . . . but there are more uniform changes in store according to the re-branding statement.

The updated logo and new typeface revealed online this morning are elements of a full rebranding which includes the removal of black from our brand identity.  The rebrand will culminate with the unveiling of all new uniforms on April 13. We are excited to share the new uniforms with our fans and anticipate that they will respond positively to the changes.

Some of the most noticeable changes will be coming to Ford Field though, as it will undergo a $100 Million facelift.

There will be new video boards, along with a sound system upgrade.  The other upgrades are a bit more vague though, only being described as tweaks to specific areas of the arena.

The Lions are close to becoming a playoff team in the NFL, and these changes are all in preparation for that.
