Detroit Lions Name Jim Caldwell As New Head Coach [Video]

The Detroit Lions have hired Jim Caldwell as their new head coach after a two week search that has left some fans disappointed.

Lions fans were geared up for the announcement yesterday that Ken Whisenhunt would be named the coach, until he decided to take the Tennessee Titans coaching job.

Some Lions fans are now convinced that Detroit is settling on Caldwell, but that might not be the case.

Caldwell has many of the qualities that The Lions were looking for like head-coaching experience and experience on offense, apparently preferably with quarterbacks.  Caldwell was also the first person to interview for the job.
