For the second straight year Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson will miss a big part of the season because of a broken bone, after breaking his arm in a car accident Monday night.

The reports are that Burleson was involved in a single car accident on I-696 at 2:30am, and that alcohol was not a factor.  Burleson is scheduled to have surgery today on the arm, and the Lions have not commented on how long he may be out.

This is especially bad timing, considering that Burleson was coming off one of his best games in recent years in the Lions win in Washington.

The Lions will most likely turn to Ryan Broyles to fill the spot vacated by Burleson in the meantime.
