As 2015 nears its concluding month, Time magazine has some decisions to make, namely, who to designate as their annual Person of the Year. This time around, they are letting readers make a selection as well, offering 58 choices, some of which are familiar rap faces. Drake and Nicki Minaj are two of the four musicians up for the Readers Selection (Adele and Taylor Swift being the other two), though neither seems primed to take the honor. At the time of publication, Drake had received 8% 'Yes' votes while Nicki's figure was only slightly higher at 10%.

Time's reasoning for nominating the two Young Money rappers are as follows:

"The first artist to go platinum in 2015, Drake saw his 'Hotline Bling' video get spoofed by Donald Trump and covered by a range of artists. His feud with Meek Mill over ghostwriting accusations also  reignited dates about authenticity in hip-hop."

"[Nicki Minaj] broke out as one of the entertainment world’s most outspoken voice on issues of race, gender and sexuality, and mad waves with a headline-grabbing MTV Video Music Awards appearance and third world tour."
