Grammy-winning artists Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Common are among the headliners set to perform at the 2015 Essence Music Festival. The 21st annual event, which takes place in New Orleans on July 2 through 5, features empowerment seminars during the day and hot music performances at night.

Other artists tapped to perform during the three-day festival at the Superdome include Erykah Badu, Raheem DeVaughn, India.Arie, Floetry, Esperanza Spalding, Robert Glasper, Doug E. Fresh, Elle Varner, Mali Music, Bilal, Teedra Moses, SZA, Tank, Mystikal and many others. And there’s still more music acts to be announced.

In addition, funnyman Kevin Hart will headline Essence’s “Now Playing” Concert on July 2.

“From first-time Festival performer Kendrick Lamar to return appearances from fan favorites like Kevin Hart, Common and Mary J. Blige, the Essence Festival offers the definitive entertainment and cultural experience for our passionate Essence community every Fourth of July weekend,” said Essence president Michelle Ebanks.

Tickets for the Essence Music Festival will go on sale on Feb. 25. For more info, click here.

We must also mention that Kendrick Lamar is going to have a very busy 2015 on the road. The Compton rhymer has booked headlining gigs at this weekend’s Air & Style festival in Los Angeles, Wireless Music Festival, Bonnaroo and the Sasquatch festival this summer.
