7 Detroit Breweries are bringing Faygo flavor to the Detroit Fall Beer Festival this month.

The Michigan Brewers Guild puts on the fall beer festival at the Eastern Market in Detroit on October 26th and 27th. I'm always a fan of a good beer festival, but when I heard about the Faygo infused beer, I started planning my trip.

Any kid growing up in Michigan knows the joy of Faygo in a glass bottle on a summer day, and every Faygo drinker has their favorite flavor. It's Rock & Rye for me mainly because there is no other pop like it. There is some generic knock off for every flavor, but Rock & Rye is one of a kind.

A group of 7 Detroit Brewers has teamed up to form the Detroit Beer Experiment. They are the geniuses behind bringing Faygo to the beer world.

The only down side to the plan is that the expectations are going to be way too high. I am already thinking about how a Rock & Rye beer might taste, and I don't know if it's possible to meet the high bar that I've set in my mind.

The Fall Beer Festival will be packed, so you can do some planning ahead by visiting their informational site here. There will also be quite a few hotel specials running for the two day festival that you can see here.

If you are looking for some great Michigan Beer's a little closer to home, make plans to attend the Michigan Food, Beer, and Wine Festival in Flint next month. Check out the Facebook event page here.
