Reports are coming out concerning the current water crisis in Flint, that show officials did not follow federal guidelines when switching over to the Flint River.

The head of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Dan Wyant, acknowledged that mistakes were made by the state.  He said on Sunday that the necessary steps were being made to correct the situation.

The major mistakes surround the treatment of the water that caused lead to be leached from the lead pipes into the drinking water.

Gov. Snyder is now going to assign an independent agency to investigate the latest development.
