Congratulations to Flint Affiliation's Girls sixth grade basketball team for finishing second in the national tournament.  A couple weeks ago Club 93.7 stopped the the Flint Affiliation's girls sixth grade basketball team car wash to support their endeavors to make it to the tournament.  While at the fundraiser, I found out the girls are really talented and educated.

Today I am extremely happy to know that their hard work payed off for them.  It is a great feeling to know that young people in Flint are doing positive things to combat the alternatives.  I hope we can get the girls to come into the studio and take about there experience.

Congratulations again ladies, keep up the good work.

Flint Affiliation fell to the Spiece Wolfpac 39-24 in the final game on Wednesday, July 25, at the Spiece Fieldhouse.

Flint Affiliation won seven of nine games in the tourney, which spanned from July 22-25. The team has played together for the last two seasons and finished in third place at the AYBT a year ago.

"It was a dog fight and everybody was contributing on our team, but they jumped out on us 11-2 at the start," said FA coach Jeff Anderson. "Then we ended up going on a run and brought it to 14-11, but in the second half they pulled away from us."
