The Flint College Cultural neighborhood watch is one of many active community watch groups in Flint.

They just made an announcement that might give them an advantage over stopping crime in the area before it starts though.

The group started with flyers, patrol cars and recently an alert system.  On Saturday the group will open up the first community watch mini-station.

According to ABC12, it's an office space at 825 Commonwealth not far from Mott Community College that group co-chairman, Craig Wolcott, says will give them a physical presence in their neighborhood.

He says it will also give people a place to come in and report problems or anything they see, as well as recruit new members.  The open house is this Saturday from 1-5 pm at the new mini-station and all are welcome.
