There will be a public forum tonight at the Flint Public Library offering up '10 Ways To Beat The Flint Water Crisis.'

The event is focused on educating Flint residents about ways to battle the effects of lead tainted water.  The panel will feature the following community members:

  • Moderator:  E. Yvonne Lewis,  Founder and CEO of the National Center for African American Health Consciousness.
  • Erin Caudell - Co-owner of The Local Grocer
  • Lisa A. Hagel, Ed.D - Superintendent, Genesee Intermediate School District
  • Isaiah Oliver - Vice President of Community Impact at the Community Foundation.
  • Matthew Purcell - Executive Director,Genesee County Community Action (GCCARD)
  • Patrick W. Sanders, Sr., - Fresh Start DCD, pastor of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church.

One of the major points of the forum will focus on how nutrition can help fight lead poisoning.  The goal of the forum is to arm the community with the knowledge and teamwork they need to protect themselves from the lead tainted water.

The forum is open to the public and will happen tonight (Wednesday May18th) at The Flint Public Library.  The event starts at 5:30pm, and you can get more information here.
