For the first time since 2011 Flint will be locally controlled, as Governor Snyder declared that the financial emergency in Flint was over.

The announcement comes just on the heels of the $7-million loan approval from the Michigan Local Emergency Financial Assistance Loan Board, which will be used to completely wipe out Flint's budget deficit.

So does this mean that Flint will be able to make all of it's own decisions?  No.

While power will be shifted back to Mayor Walling, and the city council, Michigan will keep an advisory board in place that will have veto power over any locally made financial decision.

This accomplishment might be overlooked due to the water issues, road problems, and huge public school debt.  The fact is that Flint was able to eliminate a $30 Million dollar debt, and that's pretty amazing.

Now that the elected officials that LIVE in Flint are making the decisions for Flint, do you think that things will start to improve?
