Flint Councilman Eric Mays decided that he would represent himself in court, and according to the judge in his DUI case, that may not have been the best idea.

The jury selection for Eric Mays DUI trial took place Wednesday, and the five woman, two man jury saw a very eventful day in the courtroom.  The judge overseeing the case repeatedly had issues with Mays.  Some of the more memorable lines from the judge to Mays during the day, according to Mlive, are as follows:

You are your own worst enemy, you don't know what you're doing.

You misunderstand the whole idea of court rules, if you need help you should ask.

The case is about whether or not you drank and drove, it's not about a conspiracy.

The judge even warned Mays that he may be backing his way into contempt charges.  Overall very little progress was made toward the five misdemeanor charges that Mays faces.

One thing is absolutely sure though . . . this will be one of the most entertaining trials in Flint history!  The trial will officially begin Thursday morning at 9:30am and I think we are all thinking the same thing.
