Flint township native David Magee Got his start at as a flint Community Players actor before earning the chance to write his own screenplay. Magee is now nominated in the category for best adapted screenplay for 'Life of Pi' which was originally a novel by Yann Martel . A movie that tells the story of a teenage boy that gets stranded on a boat with a tiger. Now I know the way I describe the story makes it sound pretty simply but that is not at all the case. It was even said to be impossible to put on screen but like a true Flintstone Magee made it happen.
