Wednesday night marked the last time any student will be able to call themselves a Flint Northern Graduate.

The Graduation ceremonies are normally a very happy time for seniors and alumni, but there was a somber mood at Perani arena last night.  121 graduating seniors received their diploma from Flint Northern, and they will be the last students to have that honor.

The school board voted this year to turn Northern High School into the district's alternative center. This is all because the district is facing an 11.5 million dollar deficit and declining enrollment.

The graduating class from Flint Northern was in 1929, and after 84 graduation ceremonies the last class was recognized last night.

Northern holds a very special place in the heart of Flint residents, and Club 93.7.

We would like to say BIG RED - GO VIKES!  Please comment with your best Northern memories.
