On Saturday, Flint will need your help volunteering to help clean up much needed areas.  We all know that our beloved city needs some tender, love, and care.  Several organizations have come together to invest in cleaning up the north side of town.

Bob Nelson, the CEO of Boys and Girls Club of Flint, is leading the way in this initiative to invest in our city.  This Saturday, residents will start clean up on vacant lots and vacant homes of trash.  In addition to the trash, they'll be cutting down some tall grass.

Nelson told ABC12 that things can get better if everyone gets involved.

"If the community can help, it makes the place overall better."

The area of focus this weekend is Saginaw Street, DuPont, Pasadena, and Hamilton that has strong blight.   Volunteers are asked to meet at Salem Housing on MLK Boulevard at 8:30am ready to serve.

If you can, please join in the efforts to clean things up around out town in honor of Global Day of Service.  If you need more information, please contact Flint's Blight leader at 810-237-2090.
