The laws surrounding medical marijuana have become as cloudy as the cars that their owners drive around in.  Now it looks like Flint has decided to take a brief timeout to figure things out.

The City Council passed a moratorium on dispensaries Monday night.

The moratorium temporarily bans any new dispensary from opening its doors in the city. It does not mean current dispensaries cannot do business.

Last night's council vote on the 180-day moratorium was unanimous. This gives the city time to establish a zoning ordinance for dispensaries.

So no more new grow shops can be opened, but the current shops are allowed to keep doing business?  This sounds like trouble for current shop owners to me.  This whole law is hard to take in, since possession is still against Federal Law.  Do you think that grow shops hurt the communities that they are in?
