It seems odd that Flint residents are forced to pay for water they can't drink, but the city is giving a grace period to pay if you're late.

The bad part is that it has nothing to do with the quality of the water.

The city of Flint had an issue with water bills being sent out recently, so they are offering customers a five day grace period to compensate for the problem.

If you're shaking your head while reading this, you're not alone.

It seems ludicrous that people are being forced to pay for water that can potentially poison them.  For two years now Flint residents have been told NOT to drink the water directly from the tap.  They were never told to not pay their bill though.

Imagine walking into a restaurant, eating food, and about half way through your meal, the waiter tells you that there is a good chance the food has some poison in it.  Then hands you a bill, and demands you pay it.

That's the real life situation in Flint right now.
