Despite rumors that the 'Juneteenth' parade would not be happening this year, organizers are positive that it will in some form.

Mlive reported that the parade had been cancelled due to financial reasons, but according to Paul Herring, "It will happen!  Parade or march, its going to happen."

The three day festival included a dodgeball fight, Kool-Aid making contest, talent contests, a  stage full of entertainment and much more.

Juneteenth 2012 will be capped off with a parade tonight that starts at Max Brandon Park.  Parade participants are asked to start lining up at 3pm with the parade starting at 5pm.

Juneteenth is labeled as a time to reflect and rejoice.  If you'd like to join the festivities call 810-239-2901.
