Central Michigan University alumni and Indianapolis Colts running back Zurlon Tipton died on Tuesday after accidentally discharging his gun and shooting himself in the stomach.

CMU and Indianapolis Colts running back Zurlon Tipton died from injuries after reaching into his bag at a car dealership in Roseville, MI and accidentally shooting himself in the stomach.

Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Tipton died after his gun was accidentally discharged after he reached in his bag for it.

“The department has been notified by staff at St John (Hospital on Moross) that the individual that suffered the gunshot wound has passed away due to his injuries,”

Tipton was getting his vehicle serviced around 9 am on Tuesday morning when he reached in his duffel bag and accidentally discharged his weapon.

 

Tipton was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries. He was 26-years-old.
