I have not been able to watch and get into the hit television show Empire on FOX but I plan to catch it on Netflix or Hulu Plus. The creator of the show and writer Danny Strong sat down for an interview to talk about the shows success and back stories.

Strong writes and works with Lee Daniels for the television show that has everyone talking. My social media feeds are full of commentary about the show each week. I think they is why I don't watch the show. Weird right?

Strong revealed on Sway in the Morning that the lead character Lucious, played by Terrence Howard, is loosed based on Jay Z and John F. Kennedy. According to Complex, Strong said,

"The Jay-Z story, which very much inspired Lucious Lyon, certain elements of Lucious Lyon, was that story," Strong responded. "For me the story of people who have some sort of criminal past, or gangster past are not limited to black culture. ... Our goal is to tell a great story, and to do the best show we can. You can cross the line and just be totally inappropriate, but we're not doing that. ... You know, Joe Kennedy too, is another (person who rose to power from a criminal past)."

I never knew much about the writer of the show and he seems cool. I may start watching the show but again, I may wait until it hits Netflix or something like that.
