Tigers opening day is never very warm, but this Friday could set the mark for the coldest opening day ever.

In a perfect twist of fate, my wife actually bought me tickets to Friday's game for our anniversary.  While I LOVE going to baseball games, the last Tigers game we went to was a freezing cold World Series game against the Giants.  I'm beginning to think that I need to only head to Comerica in July.

The coldest opening day in the record books right now happened in 2000, where the first pitch temp was a balmy 36 degrees.  That also happened to be the first ever game at Comerica.

Friday's high is only 37 degrees.  The high . . .

The bigger problem is that the low Thursday night is 23, with snow and gusting wind.  The wind makes 37 feel like death real quick.

Like I said in the beginning of this story, opening day is never warm.  I was just hoping not to be wearing a winter hat and gloves for the first time Ami and I went to opening day.

If the temps get to be too much for us, the good news is that Jacoby's will be sunny and 70 with the game on TV.
