The custody battle between Future and Ciara over their two-year-old son, also named Future, has reached a settlement, TMZ reports. The parents have agreed to joint custody of their son, who will spend a majority of the time with his mother. When Future, who is often away touring, is back in Atlanta, he will have reasonable access to him. Sources tell the celebrity site that both musicians are eager to put the battle behind them so the case has been officially dismissed.

News of the settlement comes a few weeks after Ciara dropped a defamation suit against Future, who had publicly criticized her ability as a mother. “I gotta go through lawyers to see baby Future,” Future wrote on Twitter in January 2016. “The fuckery for 15k a month. I been silent for a year & a half..I ran outta patience. I jus want baby Future that’s all.”

Ciara claimed that Future’s comments caused her to lose out on a $500,000 endorsement deal, part of why she was seeking $15 million in damages. A judge dismissed the claim, leading Ciara to drop her lawsuit.

Both developments seem to point in the direction of some sort of resolution for the former couple, who have battled in court and online following their break-up in August of 2014. While the legal battles are dying down, there was a notion this past weekend that by appearing on the Atlanta Falcons' sideline, Future was trolling both Ciara and her new husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Reports since have indicated that the rapper was simply supporting his side, though the motives could have been two-fold. Time will tell if a reconciliation between the two is in the cards.
