Health care becomes more and more important as people age, but unfortunately, many seniors do not have the access to medical testing they need.  The Genesee County Health Department is doing something about that, offering free basic health care screenings to senior citizens.

The Genesee County Health Department recently received a grant from the Valley Area Agency on Aging, which enables them to provide free health care screenings to senior citizens in Genesee County.

Seniors deal with numerous health problems and early detection and treatment can make all the difference in the world.  Many seniors lack the ability to get to doctors offices or the finances to pay for testing, so many diseases and health issues that could be treated end up turning into serious problems.

Free screenings for residents of Genesee County over the age of 60 will be available on August 21st from 9am to 11am at the Davison Area Senior Center.  Services offered will include tests of blood pressure, glucose, TB skin tests, and a basic health check up.

The Davison Area Senior Center is located in Davison at 10135 Lapeer Road.  Appointments are needed to receive testing, interested parties should contact Kathy Davis, the director of the Davison Senior Center at 810-658-1566.
