Genesee County Town Debates Potential Cannabis Industrial Park

A developer approached Montrose officials with an idea that would make the Genesee County community, a hub of marijuana distribution.

The debate has started over making a cannabis industrial park in the small town of Montrose.

Now that Michigan has legalized the use of medical marijuana, the developers think that this could be a great way to create new jobs.  Initial plans show that around 150 new jobs would be created, according to WNEM.

The new laws give cities and municipalities the right to dictate local regulations, so the industrial park is definitely within the limits of the law.  The Montrose city officials have said that they are not ruling it out, but want to get public input before making any solid decisions.
